Open Science from the perspective of the quality of education

Introduction: Open Science is defined as a set of practices mediated by principles of participation, collaboration, openness and scientific transparency. Objective: The objective of this article is to conceptually analyze Open Science from the perspective of quality education. Methodology: The methodology consisted of a metric study with one-dimensional indicators such as: number of documents, authors, countries and institutions, in order to analyze the scientific production on the subject between 2000-2022, considering the Scopus and Dimensions data sources. Results and discussion: The results show that open science has gained ground in recent years, which is revealed in a large intellectual production, not only from a conceptual and reflective point of view, but also initiatives in various countries. and institutions, with an emphasis on open scientific knowledge, which has important implications in the field of quality education. Conclusions: It is concluded that there is a need to move towards the formulation of an open science public policy in Colombia, based on the recognition of the strategic nature of education to contribute to the construction of a culture that emphasizes research training, which includes elements of open science in a perspective of quality education, overcoming the closed notion of production of scientific knowledge towards a vision that is much more in dialogue with society.
