The need for shoes has been present since the beginning of history and has been growing day by day. Its main function is to protect the feet and prevent them from getting hurt. Although there are different cultures that do not need to use them in their activities, such as Western cultures that label walking barefoot as a lack of economic income. However, it is clear that for the rest of the world footwear is indispensable, basic and necessary. The footwear sector in Colombia is made up of companies that manufacture, import, market and export different types of footwear, among which sports footwear stands out, with a share of nearly 40% of total national production. The demand for footwear in Colombia, as in the rest of the world, is strongly influenced by fashion trends and price. Taking into account the above, a small company dedicated to the manufacture of men's and women's footwear was chosen. The product for which the study was carried out was the sportsman's shoe, which is currently the product with the highest turnover in the company. With the help of quality control tools such as the application of the Ishikawa Diagram, it was possible to observe and analyze in detail the main causes that generate defective products in the manufacturing process, in turn, through the C control charts, the stability of the process was evidenced, that is, it is under statistical control.
