In such a changing environment, it is where it is most necessary to evaluate the performance of organizations and what factors influence it. Several studies argue that the characteristics of the top manager can influence the performance of companies. That is why, this research aims to verify the existence of the influence of the demographic characteristics of the top managers in organizational performance of small businesses in the textile industry. The research was quantitative, with descriptive and transversal. For this purpose, we worked with a sample of 400 administrators, entrepreneurs and managers of small companies in the textile industry. The results obtained show that gender and educational level have a positive and significant relationship with organizational performance, while age, seniority in the position and the manager's position did not present a statistically significant relationship with organizational performance. Therefore, not all characteristics of the top managers influence the organizational performance of small companies in the textile industry in Perú.
