Cooperation between Psychology and Theology

Abstract

this article derives from the research “La articulación de la Psicología con la teología en la restauración integral del ser humano” (cooperation between Psychology and theology toward a comprehensive restoration of the human being). this topic has been subject of research interest in education contexts, since the current crisis circumstances of society lead to reflect upon the need of incorporating a component of psychosocial prevention and intervention strategies in Psychology programs of different universities. the objectives of this study were to conceptually develop strategies granting the cooperation of Psychology and Theology in benefit of a comprehensive restoration of the human being; identify the perceptions of the spiritual dimension present in the processes of psychosocial prevention and intervention strategies of the Psychology pro- gram at Universidad de la Costa –cuc–; put for- ward a comprehensive prevention plan to guide from a spiritual stance the search of a person’s meaning of life; and, describe a emotional-centered psychosocial intervention plan allowing an improvement in life quality.
