Archiving Policy

The policy of archiving, preserving, and perpetuating the journal contents is executed by the use of the OJS platform, which uses the LOCKSS* system to preserve the documents published in it. 

 

The journal is stored and consulted through the Institutional Repository REDICUC (http://repositorio.cuc.edu.co/), managed by the Universidad de la Costa Library. REDICUC allows the preservation of the documents published by the journal including the different repositories networks in the world.   As a preventive measure, in case of system failures or publications discontinuity, the Institutional Library will keep restricted permanent document copies. 

 

*LOCKSS 

 

Open Journal Systems is compatible with the LOCKSS system (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) which guarantees the journal a permanent and secure archive. LOCKSS is an open-source program developed by Stanford University Library that allows libraries to keep selected web journals by regularly searching registered journals to collect new published content and archive it. Each archive is continuously validated with records from other libraries.  Any damaged or lost content can be restored by using those records or using the journal data.
