Abstract

In a globalized world and one in constant change due to the accelerated progress of information and communication technologies, it is essential that enterprises are created and projected to global scenarios, in order to improve their capabilities and performance resulting from the competitive advantages acquired in the process. Although it is true that a great part of the literature shows the benefits of becoming international, this phenomenon is perceived in some markets as highly remarkable and in others it is still incipient; and although it enjoys several decades of study it lacks unification of the most dominant aspects. Therefore, this article identifies the thematic axes that have caused the greatest interest in the academic community around the "Internationalization of Entrepreneurship". At the methodological level, the process was carried out in three steps: 1) analysis of the scientometric indicators, in the indexed database Scopus to get to know the documents on internationalization in entrepreneurship. 2) The bibliometrix program was used to identify various sub-areas around the subject. 3) The subareas with the greatest preponderance were selected. The results show three approaches, some directly and indirectly related to the business field where the first is Orientation to Entrepreneurship, the second is Education in the Internationalization of Enterprises and the third is International Business Networks. In practical terms, entrepreneurs, government and institutions can use these trends for assertive decision-making in order to engage the efforts emanating from each of these actors in the internationalization process.
