Archiving Policy

The policy on filing, preserving and perpetuating the journal’s contents is based on the OJS platform, which uses the LOCKSS* system for the preservation of the published documents.

The journal is also stored and viewed in the REDICUC institutional repository (http://repositorio.cuc.edu.co/), which is managed by the Library of Universidad de la Costa. REDICUC enables the preservation of the documents published by the magazine as well as retrieval through the different repository networks worldwide. Additionally, as a preventive measure in the event of system failure or discontinuity of the publication, the institutional Library will preserve restricted copies of the documents to ensure their perpetuity over time.

*LOCKSS

The Open Journal Systems is compatible with the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system, which ensures for the journal a permanent and safe file. LOCKSS is an open code program developed by the Library of Stanford University that enables libraries to preserve selected web-based magazines. It regularly searches registered journals to compile and file newly published contents. Each file is continuously validated against records from other libraries, so any contents that may be damaged or lost can be restored using those records or the journal itself.
