Abstract

Economic growth at the global level must coexist in a balanced way with society, politics and the preservation of the environment. Regarding this last aspect, it can be affirmed that global emissions of carbon dioxide –CO2– have It has been the main gas causing global warming, which leads to a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the estimate of CO2 insertion into the environment in Ecuador between 2000 and 2018; and in turn, the estimated projections of CO2 emissions by 2050, based on the IPAT equation. This study provides an analysis of recognized factors in a more detailed and established theoretical evaluation process on environmental impact. Allowing in principle to establish a starting point to observe the impact on the environment over time, by means of the impact generated by the activities of a country, establishing itself through three factors: the population (P), the production per person (A) and the level of pollution generated per production unit (T). There has been a correlation between the economic growth of the country, the population and the generation of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) inserted into the environment between the years 2000 to 2018, reaching a doubling of 22,357 to 47, 836 Kilotons of CO2. It is concluded that the increase in these factors can increase environmental impacts and reduce the availability of natural resources to present and future generations.
