Abstract

Economic development undergoes a constant flow of evolution where the industry is a fundamental piece represented as a main actor in this transformation process, committed to evolve from technological and administrative aspects to fundamental areas such as logistics operations, where it must be at the forefront of constant innovations, which allow to meet the challenges that will make them competitive and sustainable entities in their corporate processes. A good manager must know all those resources that allow him to consolidate his company as the best in the sector and make it an example for others, which is achieved through research, thorough studies of feasibility and efficiency of available and future resources to acquire. For this reason, it is of great importance the internal analysis of capacities and technological advances that allow to facilitate and improve the logistic management of a company.

In literal terms, logistics is understood as "the set of means and methods necessary to carry out the organization of a company, or of a service, especially distribution" [1]. In this sense, logistics should be conceived as the most important part of the company and therefore an administrator must know, analyze, evaluate, and validate thoroughly, everything that will be used for its management. The purpose of this article is to deepen the knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, which is a methodology based on statistics, oriented to improve the productivity and profitability of companies, in an effective way.
