The objective of this research work is to analyze restoration as an environmental education strategy for the Bilingual educational institution Awa Inda Zabaleta Sede Awa Su, Corregimiento de Llorente, Municipality of Tumaco in Colombia. The study used a qualitative approach under the interpretive paradigm. The results show the importance of nature in the life of the Awa indigenous communities. Also, how important environmental education is to promote self-regulation in all indigenous children. Finally, environmental education is perceived as an authentic tool to work in the Awa communities.
