Design of tools supporting the early detection and intervention of emergencies in production companies: A case study

This article presents the design and implementation of a technological tool aimed at providing responses to emergency events in a production company. These are categorized in software where they are deployed as strategies to minimize the impacts of risks that may materialize and put the life at risk as well as the business sustainability. A pilot-type methodology will be used to properly inform the development of an early warning prototype through the implementation of the following phases: (i) identification and characterization of risks generating potential emergencies in the organization, (ii) the description and algorithmic design of the system. To ensure its proper functioning, pilot tests were undertaken to make improvements minimizing the consequences and severity of possible catastrophic events thus avoiding human and economic losses.
