The objective of this study was to analyze wind speed data from a meteorological station in Colombia. For this purpose, wind speed data were analyzed for a 24-hour period during one month. Similar wind speed trends were observed on different days, where the highest and lowest wind speed belonged to day 2 and day 4. The Weibull distribution functions, and wind rose were applied to find the best fitting tool to the wind speed data and to determine the wind energy potential and determine the direction(s) to maximize the energy captured by the turbine, and thus install the wind turbines in the most suitable location.
