Abstract

In this work a general methodology was developed, of easy employment to carry out energy balances and to evaluate the sugar energy efficiency of power stations, with the consequent valuation of the flows mass, the generation and consumption of vapor for the different activities of the productive process. For their realization it was used as method the documental analysis starting from a group of studied methodologies, focused to the energy balance of a sugar power station in Cuba and in the world, they became critical constructive to the same ones, what served as base when elaborating one of smaller complexity. As a result a methodology was described that it contains all the stages of the process and it allows to determine the water heater-energy indicators, to check the behavior of the steam generator and its efficiency, so much internal as regarding the vapor sent to the production of sugar and electric power generation. This last it was identified as a weakness of the analyzed methodologies.
